Counting the Omer-Week 5/SPLENDOR-Day 7/KINGDOM

The tray of desserts.

Week 5-/(Hod) SPLENDOR-Day 7/(Malchut) KINGDOM

There were no kings present today or even queens but there were many princesses. Well so they were really a lot of pre-school teachers. Today was the annual Parent Luncheon to Appreciate the Teachers. There was wine and beer, cold watermelon and tomato soup, rolls, a vegetable tart and then a tray of sweet desserts for each table. One of my parent friends was in charge of the affair and she did a lovely job but it appeared as though there were more teachers then parents. Perhaps this event has seen its day. The king is dead, long live the king. The thing is there are too few times teachers can get together and socialize with parents. I am not talking about getting together for conferences but just a nice social affair without the children so we can talk and share like grownup friends. I don't even care about the honoring part, just the splendid casual and calm time. Ironically neither my director or assistant director were able to be there. So it goes.

After nightfall on Monday:

BA-RUCH A-TAH ADO-NAI E-LO-HE-NU ME-LECH HA-OLAM
ASHER KID-E-SHA-NU BE-MITZ-VO-TAV VETZI-VA-NU AL SEFI-RAT HA-OMER.
Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us concerning the counting of the Omer.

Today is thirty-five days which is five weeks of the omer.
